Genius Idea..Haha. By Raeesa Karim

So I came up with this idea that instead of having to face the ultimate difficult decision of having to choose the final picture to use as my front cover, I would put up a range of pictures on my social network page (Myspace Page) and allow people to vote which picture they liked best.

The next thing I have to do is to get out there and start taking potential pictures for the front of my magazine cover. Woo! Excited! Can't wait! =DD

We were asked to take a photo of anything that represents the school. We thought that the Mother Theresa building was significant part of the school life becuase it represents us students in 6th form, the newest building in school and the religious aspect due to her being a saint.

The picture above is the original that we first took then we went onto editing it in photoshop.

This is the name of our magazine.
Originally we planned to create a girls magazine called Beautique.
Due to us being so familiar and being consumers of those particular magazines,
we were unable to come up with original ideas for the contents of the magazine.
Therefore resulted in changing the whole genre.

We chose to do a lads magazine aimed at 16-19 years old.
It would be more interesting for four girls to be exploring the inner world
of young guys. We thought of an acronym for our magazine title 'D.I.R.T
Do It Right There' we refrained from using this because we considered the connotations behind it and concluded that it was inappropriate for the age that we are targeting our magazines at.

The stage that we're currently at is deciding the layouts of our front covers, questionnaires and images.
We have a lot of work ahead of us and are looking forward to conducting more researching and developing our magazine. =D
